The Atheist Obsession with Insulting Christians

I don't feel the need to push my atheism onto believers.

It's not about PUSHING your atheism onto others, PT, it's about seeing whether your atheism can stand up to serious scrutiny. And if you're right, then the world would be a better place with a few less Christians screwing it all up, so why NOT try to make a case for what you believe. Unless you're concerned that you might not be able to do so...

Do you see now how your image of at least one atheist is skewed? If I behaved as you do, you'd call me an "angry atheist". But since I don't conform to the stereotype in your head, you think I cannot stand up for my lack of belief. You don't understand that others don't don't share your obnoxious urge to proselytize.

I'm sorry...I think you have me confused with your evangelical neighborS/co-workerS/parents. I'm presenting the arguments and evidence for Christianity and God's existence, and all I'm getting is memes in return.

Next, someone will whine, "But we've heard it all before...". Then refuting my arguments should be EASY. (I'm not seeing that.)

If you don't like objections to your preaching, there are several options available to you. Yet you avail yourself of none of them, instead preferring to whine when you aren't greeted with open arms.

If you're going to dish it out, don't whine when it gets handed back to you.

If you don't like what I'm saying, then stay the hell out of my threads.

I don't follow you into other subforums and badger any of you there, do I? Isn't that what a TRUE troll would do? No, I stay in this subforum and post largely in my own threads with only an occasional comment in others threads.

If you're not comfortable with what I have to say, DON'T READ IT.

Generally I do avoid your threads, because they're usually shitsplats with you yammering the same nonsense over and over. While i doubt you're following me, though, there have been several instances where you have taken a reply I made to someone else and used it as the launching point for attacking my morality.

As for explaining my atheism to religionists, I will do that in person sometimes, generally when I can expect a thoughtful conversation. My beliefs see plenty of challenge, because the people around me are generally thoughtful. I don't feel any need to go to a place where Christians of any stripe congregate because I don't like to run around telling people they're wrong about something so personal, secondly because irl discussions are invariably richer, and thirdly because I consider barging into someone else's comfort zone only to argue that they're wrong about something so personal is just plain rude. And while I can be a rude sonofabitch when pushed, I much prefer civility.

Lastly, as to which threads I open, I will open which ones I goddamned well please. When I want your advice, I'll let you know. Until then, remember that unsolicited advice is usually as unwelcome as unsolicited preaching.

What you said is true, but Atheists usually take it further. They take the stance that people should not believe in God. And I've only seen one person (Tiberius) be humble enough to say perhaps people do know God exists, he doesn't know that, just that he doesn't believe he knows God exists.

Randy, in my experience most Christian forums will ban you simply for being a atheist. I was banned from Christianforums.org immediately and on worthy Christian forums they don't ban you out right but they only allow you access to one subforum.

Catholic Answers Forums will not ban you for being an atheist.

They will ban you for behaving like Minimalist.

I'll bet they would ban us for acting there as you have here.
