The woman, 23-year-old Anna Marie Nowlin, was walking with traffic along U.S. Highway 90 when a deputy spotted her and tried to talk to her. She refused to talk and continued walking, eventually crossing the road. The deputy went ahead of her and waited for her to come by, and again she refused to talk to him.

I hope she gets a good lawyer and sues the shit out of the motherfuckers.

CHICAGO — Chicago officials on Friday released dashboard-camera videos and other investigative materials from 101 cases of officer-involved shootings or other instances when civilians were injured at the hands of the police. The move was a turnaround for an administration that fought for a year not to release a video showing an officer shooting a teenager as he lay sprawled on the ground.

So they have video of 101 cases which go back at least as far as November, 2012 and they are still "investigating?"  Three and a half years?  It sounds to me more as if they are waiting for the witnesses to die of old age so they can't testify.

The policeman later agreed to take to the stage and a senior officer has credited him for “helping defuse any simmering tensions”.

And right there, BM, is the difference between British and 'murrican cops.  The last thing 'murrican cops want to do is defuse tensions.  Their actions in far too many cases amount to throwing gasoline on a fire.

Five guards at NYC’s Rikers Island jail convicted in inmate beating

Prosecutors in the city’s Bronx borough accused a total of 10 guards in the assault that seriously injured Jahmal Lightfoot on July 11, 2012. Three other guards on trial chose to have the judge determine their fate and were still awaiting a verdict. A 10th guard is scheduled to be tried separately.
“Somebody’s leaving in an ambulance tonight,” Eliseo Perez, a former assistant chief for security, allegedly told inmates before the beating, according to prosecutors.
Then Perez and a captain, Gerald Vaughn, ordered several officers to carry out the attack as a way of sending a message to other inmates, prosecutors said.

Yeah... I guess these are the good guys?

Texas grand jury clears fired white cop who shot dead unarmed black college football player

Arlington police have said officers arriving to a burglary call found Taylor roaming inside the showroom of a car dealership. Police said the officers told Taylor to lie down on the ground, but he refused.

I just can't help wondering what would have happened if the cop was black and the football player white.
