Federal law enforcement officer kicks handcuffed suspect in head in California

Witness Alex Garcia began to record the arrest when he became concerned that the officers were using excessive force.

"Walked up to his face and just kicked him, like, in the face," Garcia told CBS. "The guy was already in handcuffs on the floor. There was no need. He wasn’t struggling, he wasn’t resisting arrest. He’s Tased on the floor in handcuffs."

"Department of Homeland Security Federal Protective Service (FPS) officers are held to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct," the statement read. "Any allegation of misconduct is treated seriously and immediately."

Really?  The word doesn't seem to be getting down to the troops there, pal.

They were "horrible and demeaning", Georgia Wood says of the police officers who strip-searched her when she was just 12 years old.

She remembers being taken into police custody in South Wales eight years ago by officers who suspected her mother of possessing drugs.

"They didn't explain to me until we got to the police station. And they literally just said 'this is what's going to happen and we're going to do it'."

"For someone to just be so horrible and demeaning, I just thought 'well, if I'm meant to respect my elders, aren't my elders meant to respect me'?" she told BBC Radio 5 live Investigates.

"And I really didn't feel respected in that situation."

They are busting their butts trying to defeat a marijuana legalization proposition here in Arizona.  I normally vote against those things because I think they are a terrible way to do public policy but I voted for this one.  "Fuck you, Sheriff Shitstain."

Follow Up to a case from back in March.  As I recall, that one brought the cop apologists out in force because the woman they gunned down was holding a small pair of scissors and that so terrified the cop that he just had to blow her away.

Of course, the redneck DA out here thought that was just fine....WTF he just killed some Indian... and declared he would not indict.  Now comes this:

Winslow officer who fatally shot Loreal Tsingine resigns

Officer Austin Shipley resigned after a meeting in which he was confronted with the results of an internal-affairs investigation into the March 27 shooting that was concluded last week by the Mesa Police Department, according to the City Manager's Office. The resignation was effective immediately.

Quite the disconnect between the DA's action and the Internal Affairs probe.

Montreal police spied on a La Presse journalist for months to try to learn who his sources were, the newspaper reported on Monday.

The newspaper reported that police obtained at least two dozen court-approved surveillance warrants in 2016.

Those warrants allowed them to know who journalist Patrick Lagace called and texted and gave them access to his location through the phone's GPS.

Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre called the spying "worrisome" and "unacceptable".

The surveillance was part of an internal probe into allegations that Montreal police had fabricated evidence in gang and drug investigations.

Two officers were charged this summer as a result of the internal investigation.
