I'm curious what Mo3 thinks of women and the islamic expectations of how they must live.

I am a free, unmarried woman. I have consentual sex with whoever I want, whenever I want. I have never had any children (by choice), and feel no obligation to breed since there are enough of my fellow humans already doing that. What does islam think of my nonharmful lifestyle? I also support myself financially, and fully control my life as much as any man controls his.

Thor had a question about the sacks that muslim women are often expected to wear. I read that the reason they have to wear them is that muslim men are unable to control themselves when they see a female, so the women must hide their shapes and features since the men claim to be too weak to control what they do with their penises. I don't know if what I read is true though.

Perhaps the reason for your leading such a sinful life is that your genitals are still intact. Although female genital mutilation isn't in the koran, it apparently does find some support in the hadiths. This from islamonline:

Wow, these guys are so scared that the women will find out they are lousy in bed and leave them for a better lover, that they take away the woman's sex organs so real happiness won't ever tempt her. Yes, I have read articles where a Muslim cleric will say that the women must cover up because it prevents the men from becoming overcome by their sex drive when seeing a woman. It's all about respecting and protecting the woman, they argue.

What absolute bullshit!

No, this is all about control. Women are reduced to "nonperson" status and denied basic rights such as the the right to an education, the right to work, the right to drive a car, etc, etc....
