There's a crucial element missing. For being a dick, it has to exist. Something not existing can't be anything.

So, the better wording would be dick problems with the ones making these claims.

He's a dick.

either christianity is wrong or God is definately a dick but drich seems to believe christianity is true and God is just as horrible as the bible says he is . so romans starts out talking about the sin that the evil bible god created for his human creations and how the god deals with people who he created to enjoy that sin cant wait to hear more of this "good news"

I think for drich, the really important thing about Christianity is it somehow, perversely, made drich think that an ignoramus like him, without doing anything to rectify his own profound lack of education, could nonetheless pretend to play the teacher. Fake it until you make it seems to be his rationale for keep barking up this tree. Perhaps he really think faking it until you make it is also how Christianity will eventually call its God into actual existence.

There are many if not most philisophical/spiritual paths that equate "sin" with simply trying to fulfill ones happiness with external things of the world.

The main idea is to connect with an inner god essence or the state of which you realize that you/we are apart of everything/one else. by indulging in worldly thing (without moderation) one draws away from this conncetion.

My real negative point with Christianity (and other monotheistic faiths) is

A) They believe that no other practice/faith can do it.

B) Their fist concern is not with actaully making you a better person but with making sure you believe the way they do.

I see it as a cancer. as long as you are part of the cancer then the rest of the cancer is okay with you but if you are not then they strive to change you to it or destroy you.

Spiritual enlightment is to me getting to the same place but by your own unique means.

And for that the Christians will not abide.

because the first "sin" to Yaweh is believing in other gods/ways to the spiritual path.

He does not corner the market on this as is evident by the many people that have gone before in other cultures and since.

i think the teacher should start this study off with a proper introduction and establish first that this 'book of Romans' is inspired by God and that it is worthy of serious study . it seems like that that should be priority no. 1 and after thats established and accepted by at least someone besides himself then start with the study of it Dodgy

That's why, in the actual thread, I've made several posts more or less asking why any of us should care.

He hasn't addressed that, outside of a weak "How can you hate something you don't understand?"  Which implies he's the arbiter of biblical understanding (lol), with an added implication that none of us were actually very active in whatever churches we attended, had actually done serious study at least as rigorous as Drich, etc. etc.

To Drich, and other theists/apologists, it must be our ignorance that makes us not like/follow along with their religion.  They cannot allow for any other answer.

I care not about the Jesus story, nor the fuzzy veil of beliefs that dangle from it, changing form with each who view it.  Just like I don't care about Islam, Hindu, Buddhism, Confucianism, Satanism, Wicca, Druidism, etc.

Hey, I've admitted it several times - I know only the Reader's Digest version of Christianity.  I've tried reading the bible, but it's boring shit.  There are far more interesting and engaging myths out there to read (the Greeks were pretty awesome, for instance).  But until someone can convince me that having more than the Reader's Digest version of Christianity is worthwhile (and arguing with people online doesn't fit the bill), I fail to see the point of all these extended efforts by some of the theists on here.

My desire to learn more about Christ is about as passionate as my desire to become a Brony.
