I never understood 'hoppy'; i.e., IPAs. I think 'hoppy' beers taste like shit. When I learned that IPAs were intentionally drafted to mimic the shit load of hops infused in beer in order to make the non-refrigerated transit from England to India I laughed my ass off. The fact that a bunch of people suddenly thought this was a good thing (trendy) made me cry.

I will never begrudge someone their personal taste in anything, but 20 years ago nobody used 'hoppy' and 'beer' in the same sentence.
