Unique solution, plus it made me laugh.

I don't do testicles.

At least, not when it comes to surgery...

In real life it's not so simple.  How would I know the killer was going to kill?
OK, say that you had been in Chicago when that cop shot the defenseless kid 16 times. Would you have shot the cop to prevent him from filling the kid with hot lead or would you have given him a high-five for doing so?  Seeing that the cop-lovers charged the cop with murder even they appear to think that he went overboard with 16 shots.  They would have let him off with three or maybe 7.  After all, the cop that jumped on the hood of a car and killed the people with lead got off so the Chicago cop had no reason to think that he would be charged with anything at all.

If I kill the killer, then I find out the killer had motivations that were understandable, even sympathetic, should I kill the other guy to make up for it? And then myself for killing the first guy?

So you have limits.  Isn't killing someone a lot worse than torturing him?  A person can survive torture.  He can't survive being killed.  A person will feel some guilt about torturing a person but he will become consumed with guilt for having killed someone.  Murderers won't get into the golden cube.
