Google Emerils funky bird.

Been doing it this way for 10+ years. Never thought of trying anything else.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Happy thanksgiving for those who celebrate it Smile
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you

Will do. Emeril, eh? Kitty got her recipe from one of the Food Network celebs... Oh yeah, here it is, from Ina. Pretty much no one who comes for turkey day likes the dark meat so we just do a breast. Turns out great.

Your mom.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Do you do the poblano chocolate mole that's listed with it?

Turkey, bread and some fruit salad are mainly what's on my plate. My mom is cooking, so hopefully she follows the Alton Brown recipe again. She's not the greatest cook, but that recipe was bitchin'. It was kind of like what SteelCurtain posted with soaking the bird beforehand.

I usually make the mole when I make a breast. It is very time intensive, but so worth it. Chiles and chocolate together are fucking phenomenal.

I prefer gravy during the holidays.

I'm a huge mole fan. Just never thought of it as much of a holiday food. But then a lot of my family are kind of WASPy and are from the Midwest.

It's one of our (US) holidays that I like. The idea of taking a day to give thanks to what doesn't suck is appealing to me. Power of positive thinking and such.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

We are so compatible.  No one here wants the breast.  Dark meat is best.  Wink
