The reason I can only post about 2,000 at a time is because that's the server-side limit of the post content. If I try to post say 5,000 the forum software will accept it, but the post is automatically truncated at a point after about 2,000 (in which case it won't have the [/hide] tag either!)

For the record I tried to post 100,000 originally, and got a server error: message too large. What I find interesting is that I can post 3,000 and it will be accepted by the server, but truncated to about 2,000. Obviously this is an error, the accepted message size should be the same as the size that the server will store into the database as a post.
