I had the pleasure of her tweeting me links about the history of Buddhism and the superstitions in it. 

She had lots of critics, but she also had lots of supporters.

Her supporters were always well aware of her critics.

But I really think that is far more picky about interpretation than the conclusions she was pointing to. Basically all religions are man made. 

Even outside her, humans have a tendency to look at your fingertip while you point at the moon.

I just feel lucky to have had brief tweets with her. I never told her that I had been thinking all religions were made up long before I was an online atheist. Ironically it was Buddhism mixed with Hinduism, in an exhibit in the Smithsonian in DC that made me say "damn, if this can mix, then maybe all religions are made up". 

She just pointed out to me the details of what I had already suspected.

I especially enjoyed her observation that the "passion" story worked better as a theater piece than an actual event.  She's right.  It has the same compression of "time and space" that you see in drama.

I've never heard anyone accuse her of the TV mind rot modern conspiracy "Alien visitors". At best she may have made a point that ancient civilizations may have made claims about human like life coming from they sky BUT that would have been based on their own anthropomorphism reflecting their own superstitions back then. Or modern people projecting backwards in time to justify their "little green men" Area 51 bullshit.

But no, we have NOT been visited by intelligent beings. There is evidence that microbial life should be able to survive in hostile climates and or lay dormant and piggy back on a meteor or commit.
