Should I approach the Jehovah Witnesses loitering outside of my office?

I did this to a JW caller who had his 12 year old daughter with him, both left in tears. Maybe I was cruel, but maybe the kid got to think what the religion really means.

A little cruel, but correct indeed. They are child murdering bastards.

If I get confronted by them I just tell them I have no interest in their cult.

When they ask why I call it a cult, I ask if their branch practices "disfellowshipping"?

If the answer is yes I tell them that's the exact practice of a number of other dangerous cults and theirs is, therefore, no better.

Double edge sword. I don't know your climate of overall religiosity of where you live. I myself don't deal with it. I see anyone in groups holding holy books trying to walk up to my door, I simply tell them to move on. I've had to raise my voice a little after telling them once but most of the time they don't push it.

I have run into horror stories of people getting kicked out of their apartments because the landlord found out. I've seen stories in the news were families have been threatened so much they leave town. Only you know your environment. I would say if you chose to engage them, since it is face to face, a shouting match would not work.

I don't care what someone is selling, even if it is not religious, I get enough crap on my tv, enough junk mail in my mailbox, and enough robo calls on my phone and adds even on my computer. Don't come onto my property and try to sell me anything. If I want something, I have a vehicle I can drive to get what I want, and I have the internet.

Call the cops and report suspicious activity.  Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll shoot them.

I know you are joking, but no, someone holding crappy bullshit claims is not a reason to shoot them. But here is some dark humor about JWs.

If you can get away with it, poke them with a stick. If not leave them alone.

Such as "Are we created?", etc. Obviously, I know that humans were not designed, and I have to grapple with the problem of evil every single day in my current job so I find assertions like that very insulting. I know Jehovah Witnesses are very closed minded people, and probably shouldn't be approached, so maybe let's talk about religionist kiosks more generally.

Telling readers about my current job may ultimately help someone trying to identify (perhaps in the future) me build up a picture of me but I'm just going to go ahead and say it:

I work for my local council as part of the team that assesses applications for parking badges for disabled people. Part of my role involves reading the many sad accounts that people give of their lives in order to obtain the highly coveted disabled parking badge (the badge means a lot to lots of people, so we receive lots of letters of thanks). My job is quite sad, but I know that I have a big impact on the lives of others.

Some examples: This person's application has a stamp from one of the local hospices, meaning that they are scheduled to die of cancer very soon - therefore their application gets given priority. Or, for example, this baby cannot survive without clunky medical equipment therefore their application is given special consideration. There was one application that stuck in my mind, submitted by a doctor who was originally born in Baghdad, Iraq, and I'd hate to find out exactly why he was in the condition that he was it. I felt compelled to write a letter of apology to him to say sorry for how Western imperialism is destroying his place of birth, but I knew that would be inappropriate.

Like I sad, many sad stories. And it makes me so angry people telling me all of this suffering is part of their deity's plan for a person. Or how humans are perfectly designed (when these stories show that they clearly aren't). I 'm wondering if educate the religionists during my lunch break maybe, but I know that may be a waste.
Thank you for your consideration.

When I need to let off steam I generally go after the anti-abortionist religionistas, it's very satisfying as they are a bunch of angry people who can be easily riled. I'm polite to jehovah's as I find them unfailingly polite to me.

Zebo-the-Fat has it right, but make sure you have such a clever plan before you approach the theist, and never do this in anger - you will need to stay in control, which may be very hard. If you can succeed at discouraging theists from poisoning your work, then it would be a public service to do so, just don't get yourself in trouble with your boss or anyone who matters.
Mr. Hanky loves you!
