I'm not talking about the validity of any of them(to some degree), but the reasoning for them existing in the first place. I get that they are in an effort to find the truth, which I definitely commend, however this is a stretch in a lot of cases. To be quite honest, most of the time they are not based on nothing, even if it is bad evidence. What is your explanation for the philosophy behind it?

How do you explain the fact that often even the most crazy, out in left field, totally ridiculous conspiracy theories(I.E Flat Earth, Reptilians, Clones, etc.) somehow still manage to get evidence that they support these theories with? I'm not really talking about the fact that regardless of the evidence they are most likely wrong, we understand that, i'm talking about how they string together this evidence with their own personal narrative in the first place.

Thoughts?
I think a lot of people are just plain bored, and they fill their time with this stuff to deflect attention from their dull existence.

I have a dull existence, I like dull, keeps me out of trouble and doesn't make me chase after things I dont need. I like being a homebody.

I think a better way of putting it is that the get to the point of paranoia for mundane psychological reasons. Lack of understanding of how good reasoning skills work, lack of understanding of biology and brain chemistry, lack of support in their own family or community which can cause an individual or group to fear others, mundane mental illness, and it doesn't help when you have media and politicians and holy people scaring the shit out of vulnerable people.

RE: Conspiracies
Conspiracy theories made people who believe in them feel special as if they were having insight into something that others aren't capable of discovering. Such theories also simplify the world - in a way - which for some is too complicated otherwise.

Conspiracies are cry for easy answer and I suppose they will exist as long as there would be need of said easy answers.
The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.
