Chain eateries in your hood.

RE: Chain eateries in your hood.
In the UK we have nandos.  The best peri peri chicken I've had, well I don't know if it's the best but I associate it with a lot of good dates I've had.

It's strange that nandos hasn't spread to America yet, maybe you have another peri peri chicken type place over there that already dominates the market.

Another beast of a place to eat in the UK is the red hot buffet places.  It has a collection of every nationality of food, my favourite is squid in thai sauce.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

I don't eat fast food unless it's an absolute necessity -- we don't have any out here in the country anyway; the nearest McDonald's is 14 miles from home, and I hate their food anyway.

The last fast food I had was back in June when visiting my old stomping grounds in SoCal ... I took my gal to my favorite burger place, the Habit. It's a small chain there which makes great burgers and onion rings.

We have a few good family-owned restaurants out here, though, and I enjoy them on occasion.

In my 'hood, none...
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

I'm very particular when it comes to fast food; a bout or two of food poisoning will do that. I usually play it safe and stick with french fries and Diet Coke if I'm stuck with drive-through; Wendy's are the best. Sonic has absolute the worst.

I would throw caution aside if White Castle makes it to VA, though.

Tropical Smoothie is great, although I don't frequent them much. They just don't open early or stay open late enough for my schedule. I enjoy their delicious $100 wraps, though.  Wink

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I had the nasty e coli back in the 90s from a raw center hamburger at a now defunct fast food place.  I had the yellow eyeballs, white poop (then red) and brown urine all with the continuous sensation of my intestines trying to crawl out of my body.

And a few years later got it again from an improperly handled grilled steak. Same symptoms with the addition of profound weakness and inability to walk.  Easy to see how that sort of thing can kill the very young, old and infirm.

Goddamn, that's horrible.
I hope it didn't cause any permanent damage. Or create any chronic conditions.

It is quite a jolt to pee liquid that looks like coffee.

I miss Frisch's Big Boy from my childhood; vegetable soup, a Big Boy, onion rings and a Chocolate shake. When I get back to southwest Ohio I have to go to Frisch's. The problem is that I must also squeeze in a visit to Skyline or Gold Star. My wife thinks I'm nuts but knows better to get in the way.
