I found quite a few chains that we don't have in Omaha. No White Castle, What-A-Burger, Cheddars, Granite City (until recently), Elephant Bar, ....................

What do you have in your neck of the woods that you like/frequent? It would help if you tell me where your neck is.

My neck is just below my head.

We have:
Pandora bread
Noodles & Co.
Infinito's pizza buffet
Rita's
Dairy Queen
Maple Donuts
Hoss's
Texas Roadhouse (I can't eat there due to an anaphylactic nut allergy)

We have a bunch more but I can't think of any really good ones right now.

When I get back to southwest Ohio I have to go to Frisch's. The problem is that I must also squeeze in a visit to Skyline or Gold Star. My wife thinks I'm nuts but knows better to get in the way.

That sounds like Cinci. One trip I hit all three of those. Skyline kind of freaked me out. Isn't there chocolate or something similar in the sauce? Brought some canned home and no one would touch it.

I want to try Skyline. Yes it has chocolate in it. It's a Southern Ohio thing. So does a famous Mexican dish called mole negro. Really, really good.

Joe's Crab Shack looks good, but I reckon it attracts frat boys/beach bums. Anybody ever go?

We have an excellent place that makes chicken mole but it's family owned.

Been to several Joe's. Omaha, Denver, St. Louis, Lexington, Nashville, Shreveport. It's kind of standard quality seafood, just a more fun atmosphere. For a seafood chain I liked Pappadeaux better.

Just went to Granite City for the first time the other day (north of JCS) and really enjoyed it. Staff was just right, attentive enough without being by table too much. Had older guest with us and we were there quite a while but arrived at end of lunch rush so worked out fine.
