Technically, any type can be infused, survival afterwards is the trick.

I asked my doctor one time if he knew my blood type but he said it would take ordering typing on my blood sample (and thus an extra lab cost) to find out - so I don't know my blood type.

I'm either A or O as those are my parents' blood types.

I'm trying to be less of a baby about needles so maybe I should try donating blood - they tell you your blood type when you donate, right?

In Ireland they write out to you. As regards taking the plunge, try and have as stressless a day as possible beforehand, the first time I tried to donate my blood pressure was too high, was having a bad day at college and the extra worry of getting pricked just sent it over the top.

Also drink plenty of water all day and eat something shortly before donating. And if you can have a nice pint of stout afterwards (when I donated down in Cork, I used always get a can of Murphy's afterwards as I was living up the road from the hospital).
