Chick tracts - pdf form - downloadable

RE: Chick tracts - pdf form - downloadable
Minor point in the OP, I recall seeing Chick tracts in the late 70's. I can't recall if I saw any in college (fall 75 to spring 76) but they were definitely being circulated at my first employer, 1976-79.

There were people passing them out then that sincerely thought just putting the right one in a given sinners hands could lead them to Salvation, apparently within seconds to moments after reading it.

Obviously, I saw a 'homo' one, and a general come to Jesus one and I'm pretty sure an anti-Catholic one.

Of course, it's nice to see them categorised like that, even if I'm not sure "Somebody Loves Me" belongs in the "Promoting Child Abuse" category. I think (at least in theory), it might actually belong in the "Literature" section, since I'm inclined to see it as being a riff on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Match Girl," and all the fucked-up subtleties inherent in the original story. And, while we're at it, I think "The Letter" might belong to that category as well. Why? Compare the messengers from Hell to Gustave Dore's illustrations of "The Divine Comedy." I'm going to go out on a limb and say Jack (or probably Fred Carter, his "good" artist) apparently felt lazy that day and decided to just trace off the most famous illustrations of one of the most popular works of Medieval literature.

Good point about the categories.  I just threw them into folders.  I don't take a lot of time studying the things, because I have negative associations with them.  And yes, I got them from chick.com.  They are available.  That's where I got these.  The only difference is that the ones on chick.com are not downloadable.  I took screenshots and turned them into pdfs.  It's much easier this way.

Yes, Vor, I thought that I was given a few in my early college days as well, (including the pastor at the church service I mentioned, handing them out to the kids and then to me) - - but I wasn't certain of the date.  I wasn't trying to give you a history of the tracts . . . but maybe I should go back to chick.com and look for one, if folks are interested.  I remember "The Gay Blade" from the late 70's - I think.

I even remember the name of the co-worker who gave me the gay one, and you're correct, the title was The Gay Blade.

"Louis" was an odd man, even before his TBI. While he was concerned about my salvation, hence the Chick tract, he was almost creepy in his fascination with one of my boyfriends he met.

He was in a vehicle accident and had some cognitive difficulties as a result. Personable guy, too bad about the wreck. Idunno if he has 'tendencies', my BF thought his vibe was really weird, but who knows.
