The thing is it was me being asked, and I do have a reason to believe. If you don't agree, that's fair enough, but in terms of me having a reason to believe, I do.

RE: David Icke
You stated your reason for believing was that you liked the idea, or that it "felt" right. That isn't a reason; at least not a rational one. Rational arguments are based on logical reasoning, and your arguments for why you believe aren't based on sound logic.

I don't mind that.

So do you accept that your arguments are not "rational & convincing" then?

They're certainly convincing to me, and coherent. Rational? What does rational mean? Another question : Does it matter to you? What I mean is, would you prefer it if I changed my beliefs or my way of forming them?

RE: David Icke
A rational argument (or belief) is one based on good reasoning and logic.

Does it matter to me? Yes. If you are going to go around saying your belief is "rational & convincing" when you admit that the reason you believe it is because it "feels right" or because you "like it".

I don't care if you change your beliefs or not; I'd prefer you changed your way of forming your beliefs. I don't believe things because I like them (indeed, I have some beliefs I don't like), or because they "feel right". I believe things because they have logical reasoning backing them up.

Why does my way of forming my beliefs matter to you? What are the consequences for you?

We're trying to find out if we should take you seriously.

So far it's a resounding no.
