I am expecting him to win, there are a lot of stupid people around, I mean look at the moronic Bexit vote result. Only a brain dead imbecile with no insight into how the world works would be for brexit, yet it won the day.

I never voted for Brexit even though I had the choice. I live in France, and it is very possible that I could be booted out of France, straight back to the United Kingdom. Furthermore, whether you like it or not, people are not stupid for using their vote. What would you prefer them to do not vote at all? For 1,973 years, we were never really a part of Europe until the Common market happened, and even then, neither the French or the Germans wanted us. Either way, those people had a right to vote and they stood by their convictions. The Scots want their independance from the United Kingdom too, so, I say give it to them, it is their right. Calling those who voted for brexit "braindead", is about the same as those who are going to vote for Clinton who continues to spout lie, after lie, after lie. Tells me all I need to know about the "imbeciles", and "braindead", who will vote for her.

That is partially explained as the very nature of fanatics.  But I really don't understand the dislike so many resigned Clinton voters express.  After all, we're not looking to date her or make her our role model or even our best friend.  We are simply looking for someone competent and well intentioned.  Bernie was by far the better rhetorician but I'm confident that Hillary would be the more effective agent of change.  Not starry eyed, return-of-the-king, epic change.  Just nuts and bolts achievable change in a land infested with ignorant cynics who have no talent for recognizing their own best interest.

The numbers cited in that link are a bit dated. But even if we grant that Trump supporters are more enthusiastic than Clinton supporters, I would ask whether people like me (who will vote Clinton if my state's poll numbers indicate a close race here but will otherwise vote 3rd party) count as "enthusiastic" Clinton supporters versus someone who will enthusiastically vote against Trump?

True. I didn't even notice that this was six months ago.

As for the enthusiasm level, I think it's basically a matter of psychology. I think that the Clinton supporters are not as enthusiastic (or "motivated" to use a different word) as compared to the Trump supporters because she herself doesn't appear very enthusiastic, IMO. People can see this in her body language and the way she speaks. She often looks tired and not enthusiastic enough. These things both consciously and subconsciously affect other people's opinion of her as well as their enthusiasm level. Recently, even Joe Biden expressed that Clinton should start speaking with "some passion" in order to fix her trust issues.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, appears extremely enthusiastic. He communicates with passion, high energy, and seems to have a powerful desire to win. This impacts his own supporters by similarly increasing their own enthusiasm as well.

But I really don't understand the dislike so many resigned Clinton voters express.
