Would you?

That was supposed to be kind of a joke but since you asked... no I wouldn't. But if someone told me that Jesus said that I need to jump off a cliff and they used a single scripture as their basis I would probably investigate the scenario of the scripture. For example, the time where Jesus expelled the demons into swine and then they jump off a cliff. I guess someone could probably use that single account to justify jumping off a cliff. Especially if the promise of heaven is assured. That is what Islamic terrorists believe right? If you're saying that Christians aren't true believers because they have TV's you need to show that it was an absolute rule from Jesus to his disciples. You have not done that. And I go back to the Tu Quoque fallacy. Even if christians actions are inconsistent with what they preach, that doesn't alone invalidate what they preach.

I NEVER SAID THAT SELLING ALL YOUR POSSESSIONS AND GIVING THE WEALTH TO THE POOR IS KNOWN TO BE REQUIRED.

I SAID THAT IT MIGHT BE REQUIRED.

I ALSO SAID THAT DOING SO CANNOT DECREASE YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING INTO HEAVEN OR WHATEVER SHIT YOU JW PEOPLE BELIEVE.

THEREFORE IF YOU BELIEVE IN THE BIBLE AND DO NOT PERFORM THOSE ACTIONS, THEN YOU ARE IRRATIONAL.

So it MAY be required but you're not sure. And it also cannot decrease your chance, much to the same effect that standing on one foot and singing mary had a little lamb before buying lottery tickets wouldn't decrease your chances of winning the lottery. But in conclusion it would be IRRATIONAL to not sell all of my belongings and give to the poor. Big thumbs up to you! I will never try to spar with a Sicilian ever again Worship

The point was that if you believe in Jesus, maybe try to do the shit he said.

But we keep coming back around to the same problem.  Belief in Jesus without actual, objective evidence that the belief is factually real is inherently irrational.  Trying to rationalize an inherently irrational belief is pointless.  Now yes, there are lots of people who have irrational beliefs, but those are not people to be respected, those are people to be pitied.

Jesus didn't say anything about standing on one foot and singing. Jesus, when asked about heaven, did say to sell all your shit and give the money to the poor. You are fucking retarded.

Hmmm, you're very articulate in your reasoning. I rebutted your point about Jesus making that an absolute rule for gaining salvation. He was referring to a single man. He never said that everlasting life was only possible by selling all your belongings. You have not proven that in any way. So maybe you just need to bone up on what makes an effective argument. Maybe you could decide what point you're even trying to make.

It's still a stupid belief to start off with.  If that's what you start off with,  you're an irrational idiot.  I don't accept giving that kind of thing a pass.

I guess my point is that even with the pass, they're still irrational. Irrational inception.

Jesus didn't say anything.

Rather, man created a fictional character to present his ideals under a pseudonym.
