Doubt it. Not doubting Trump and many of his supporters are racist, but I just cannot believe 30 to 40 percent of the population is that racist. I don't think my electrician is. What I think is that white non college educated guys are feeling attacked, that they are losing ground, and that they haven't had a politician who actually represents them in 30 years.

I suspect that's it, Cap'n.  Remember when Mitt the Shitt finally released his tax returns?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/...story.html

Quote:Mitt Romney releases tax return for 2011, showing he paid 14.1 percent tax rate

All the little scams that the rich have concocted for themselves add up.

What amusing about Romney is twofold:

One, he said:

Quote:“I pay all the taxes that are legally required and not a dollar more,” he said. “I don’t think you want someone as the candidate for president who pays more taxes than he owes.”

And then proceeded to do exactly that.

Quote:Davis said that Romney “has been clear that no American need pay more than he or she owes under the law. At the same time, he was in the unique position of having made a commitment to the public that his tax rate would be above 13 percent. In order to be consistent with that statement, the Romneys limited their deduction of charitable contributions.”

The second thing was that fucking Drumpf was out there telling Mitt to release his returns!

http://www.breitbart.com/2016-presidenti...lease-now/

Quote:Donald Trump is being criticized by 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney because the New Yorker hasn’t released his personal tax returns. Four years ago, though, it was Trump who was suggesting Romney may have to release his.

I agree. People who think it's all about racism aren't thinking it through very well. I think some people just like to cry racism at everything they don't like. Can anyone really say that a solid third of the people they know are racists? I doubt it.

Hmmm..... try this:

Sadly, they are still pissed that they lost twice to Obama.

I think it's either that or that he isn't paying much in taxes.

This is my guess too. Not being worth claimed wealth is one thing ... but skipping out on taxes is political poison.

When Romney eventually released his tax returns, that's what ended up being the case with him, he only paid 13% tax by taking advantage of so many loopholes and stuff. People who are speculating that there is something truly awful in his tax returns are doing just that, speculating. What can really be in a tax return that's all that horrible and isn't public knowledge already?

I think there's an undercurrent of racism to Trump's support. The vids I've seen, with his supporters shouting "fucking niggers", "go home spics", and so on, tell me that even if Trump isn't intending that to be his message, that is exactly what is getting across to many of the people who support him. The "wall", the suggestion that all Muslim immigration be halted (a position he later backtracked) -- those were positions calculated to appeal to racist elements without being explicit, if you ask me.

Too clever by half, no? Now he has to answer for those words -- and has to hope they haven't alienated a majority of the voting public.

I will savor his defeat, knowing that the remaining racists in America will recognize it for what it is: their death-knell.

Paying less than you should? Abusing loopholes and the government letting you get away with it? Shit, I could go on. I could even ask ... ahem ... "If you've got nothing to hide ...?" Hell, I pay 13% taxes, and I'm working-class, nowadays. What would I -- or more pertinently, another Texan who actually supports Trump -- think if it would come out that he's not paying that?

But hey, let him hide those records away, let others speculate. It only speaks to his political idiocy that he doesn't understand why voters would want to see his returns. Were I a Presidential candidate, I'd release those records as an offensive broadside to my opponent -- unless I knew I had Russian checks deposited, or loopholes out the backhole, or -- just maybe -- they showed that my patriotism didn't get as far as my wallet?

Holding back on his returns is a serious error, justified only if releasing them would do even more damage. Either Trump's rookie team doesn't know what even a schlub like myself knows, or they know a lot more and don't want me to know it.

I'm not sure if the President can actually do such a thing, but if it's in his authority, it would be priceless to watch the Trump camp fabricate entirely new and heretofore unspoken reasons for not releasing the returns.

The IRS cannot release anyone's information except as allowed by Section 6103 of the Code.  There is absolutely nothing to stop a citizen from releasing his/her own information.  Drumpf's protestations about that simple fact are a lie.
Something he is quite proficient at.

I'm not suggesting that Trump's tax information be released by any third party. I'm wondering if it's within the President's executive authority to decide to suspend or end an ongoing audit. After all, that's been Trump's excuse so far: he won't release his tax returns while his audit continues.  Kick that stool out from under him and see if he's true to his word about releasing his information if the audit is not longer happening.

I'm sure Drumpf thinks it is.... that fucking fool thinks he's running for emperor.

But the answer to your question is "no."  The solution is simple.  The candidate can release anything he likes and if he fails to then people are free to draw any conclusions they wish.  I assure you that the conclusions I draw are all negative about that orange piece of shit.
