Origin of Allah(Al-illah)

RE: Origin of Allah(Al-illah)
Not only are Yahweh and Allah the same god-- they are the same god as Zeus, Thor, and thousands of others gods that have come and gone: they are all equally fictitious.

As good as that sounds it makes no sense what you are saying. By that logic Darth Vader and "The little train That Could" are the same.

What a fascinating and unusual point of view.

I wait with baited breath for the evidence on which you've based such a conclusion.Angel

My point being that satan is a god equal to yahweh.

And counts as such in the christian pantheon.

Really, and what it the basis for your conclusion? Just curious,as it's not one I've heard before in a contemporary Christian context. My understanding is Satan is not even a god,per se,but a fallen angel (aka Lucifer) who was created by god.

In much of Christian iconography,Satan is actually Pan, a minor Greek nature god.

Beezelebub (lord of the flies) may have been based on Moloch,a rather nasty Babylonian god .Baa'l is another name for Satan yet is a title meaning Lord, not a proper name.

My point is that there in no consensus about the origin or nature of Satan/Lucifer/Shaitan/The Devil.

A common explanation:
Quote:Satan (Hebrew: הַשָׂטָן ha-Satan ("the accuser")[citation needed] ; Persian "sheytân"; Arabic: الشيطان ash-Shayṭān ("the adversary") - both from the Semitic root: Ś-Ṭ-N) is an embodiment of antagonism that originates from the Abrahamic religions, being traditionally considered a "fallen" angel in Judeo-Christian belief, and a Jinn in Islamic belief. Originally, the term was used as a title for various entities (humans, accusing angels, etc.) that challenged the religious faith of humans in the Hebrew Bible.[1] Since then, the Abrahamic religions have used "Satan" as a name for the Devil.[2]

Since god is apparently incapable of controlling or defeating satan, it follows that satan is equal in

capabilities to god.

So looking at christianity from the outside it isn't a monotheistic religion as you can count at least two gods, plus all of the sub dieties.

(Remembering of course that it like arguing about who is tougher, Batman or Spiderman)

God continually defeats Satan. Satan is defeated. Satan exists because God exists, as a contrasting force of negativity. Negativity doesn't exist of itself but because positivity can be detracted from.

Monotheism = a theology containing one God.
Polytheism = a theology containing more than one god.

or you are right but satan and god have different characteristics.....

And how is satan defeated? Since it appears that he is still able to go about his nefarious activities.

What does that statement even mean?

I'm well aware of the differences, but christianity and islam are still polytheistic religions because they have more than one deity.(to us there isn't a great deal of difference between a minor god and an angel.

To my knowledge the only truly monotheistic religion is Sikhism.
