No brainer for me.  I'm having some health issues and in a cold and flu season with a <20% effective flu vaccine, my traipsing off to a theater would be an extremely poor idea.

I HAVE to wait for the blu ray.

And don't feel bad, I will use the Cornwalls, my HSU Research sub, and the Sony 75" TV and I'm going to have a wonderful time.  Just delayed.

Appreciate the good reviews, people !!    Play it up and I can enjoy the movie theater experience vicariously, win-win !!!

Have you considered pooling? (Or Deadpooling?)

You buy the Blu-ray/DVD/Download copy, but you get two other people to split the cost with you. Each copy then costs ~$7.00 USD.  Rotate or "dibs" or go with the option you like best, negotiating.

I like buying slightly used mint condition cheap EBay finds. If I like movie, keep it, otherwise, I donate to local libraries for loan outs.

What big fucking thing blows up at the end of this one?

That only happens in 3 out of 8... well, 4 out of 9 if you count Rogue One

The only way I would go to a movie today is if I was rich enough to buy the theater for the viewing and only have friends who agreed not to gulp, slurp, chew, smack lips, or talk during it.

Honestly though, outside my own bugaboos, I have worked at a movie theater, and maybe also part of my objections also, is having to CLEAN up that shit.

So to everyone reading this, even if you go. PICK UP YOUR SHIT  and don't fuck up the bathrooms either. If you value labor, don't make their jobs harder. Other than that, no matter the movie, go and enjoy if that is your thing.

Working a movie theater isn't as simple as ripping ticket stubs or handing people popcorn.

They never blow up aDeath Star in Rogue One. Doesn't count.

Still something big (maybe not planetary big) blows up in every SW movie.  I'll concede that and so what.  Still a damned good time.

Ok, I saw it. Is it a perfect movie? No. Is it an awesome as fuck movie? YES! Is it a great new addition to Star Wars? Hell yes!
I already wish I could go and see it again.

Hence star wars.  Things big blowing up has been a common feature of all warfare since a long long time ago.

But following much the same plot line to make one thing blowing up the ultimate culmination of the movie, that is getting old.

Of all the new characters introduced in TFA, not one failed to grade on my nerves. I will see how much worse it can get.

The only reason I would go and see this film is so that later, I could drive by the long lines of people still waiting, and shout spoilers at them.

Ok, if anyone wants to see a more detailed review, I've put it in spoiler tags below.

But first a gripe about certain kinds of movie goers.  Which has a minor spoiler.

Ok, now for a completely spoilery movie review.  Warning, don't read this unless A. You've seen the movie, or B. You don't ever intend to (in which case, why do you care?).

Kudos for this much.  Will wait until I see it to read the rest.
