I think McCain's record can stand on its own.  I'm worried about who Arizona is going to get to replace him.

I'm not.  I have no doubt that our Governor Douchebag will find some sleazy pile of shit to do the WLB's bidding.  Not a doubt in my mind.  Its why I'll be voting for whoever runs against him.

McCain's biggest flaw was that he was a warmonger who thought every international problem could be solved by dropping bombs on it.  The only time I ever voted for him was in the 2000 NY primary when he was running against that idiot, Bush.  The difference between his philosophy and the WLB's is that McCain did not see the need to demonize his opposition.  People could disagree on policy without being enemies.  A pig like Trump never learned that.

There was a report out that McCain requested eulogies be given by Bush and Obama.  It also noted that Pence would attend the funeral.  The best thing that the Orange Turdfuhrer could do would be to shut the fuck up and make himself scarce.

A big part of the reason why the republitraitors were so happy to push the "Obama iz a seekrit Mooslem" line was because for most of the campain McCain openly endorsed it (without spouting it himself). It was his own bloody fault that he had to end up telling his deplorables to knock it off.

Of course if he was actually against racism, he could have not joint the racism party in the first place.

But according to The Washington Post, the president didn’t want to release a statement on the death.
“Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Chief of Staff John F. Kelly and other White House aides advocated for an official statement,” The Post said Sunday. They’d hoped to honor the decorated Vietnam War POW for his years of service to the nation in the Senate and call him a “hero.”
But according to current and former White House aides, “Trump told aides he wanted to post a brief tweet instead, and the statement praising McCain’s life was not released.”

“It’s atrocious,” said Mark Corallo, who once served as a spokesperson for Trump’s legal team. “At a time like this, you would expect more of an American president when you’re talking about the passing of a true American hero.”

Former President Barack Obama released a touching tribute to his former political rival Saturday.

“John McCain and I were members of different generations, came from completely different backgrounds, and competed at the highest level of politics,” Obama said in the statement. “But we shared, for all our differences, a fidelity to something higher — the ideals for which generations of Americans and immigrants alike have fought, marched, and sacrificed.”

“Few of us have been tested the way John once was, or required to show the kind of courage that he did. But all of us can aspire to the courage to put the greater good above our own. At John’s best, he showed us what that means. And for that, we are all in his debt. Michelle and I send our most heartfelt condolences to Cindy and their familiy,” Obama closed.

Been listening to tributes on NPR today and usually I can't stand extended tributes; they are just too boring and repetitive. But I didn't get bored listening to McCain's tributes today.

It beggars belief that a venal grifter is allowed to sit in the White House and dictate that its flag fly at full staff after McCain's death.
