It doesn't inspire confidence

I had a guy knock on my door while I was cooking breakfast. He says he' s from ____________ Tree Services - and wanted to know if I would be interested in selling " that Chinese Elm" down the hill behind my barn. ( big tree - over 100 foot, visible from the road).

I told him I wasn't interested - and neither would he be - as it' s not an elm - but is a tulip poplar. 

He wanted to argue with me.

A senseless argument in my book - but I figured some here might like it.

I shut the door on the guy.

I' m not letting a moron who doesn't know the difference between a poplar and an elm on my property with a chainsaw.

If I had been in that movie - it'd been much shorter.

Being alone in the boonies had taught me to answer the door with a foot braced on the door, and my right hand free to my side to allow for a quick draw.

A guy that dumb is almost certainly without liability insurance. The tree is big enough to squash three buildings that are close enough.

Hey, if he pays in advance, and it was worth it, I'd certainly consider it.

If he offered you like $2, then it'd be a door slam for sure.
