6 and a half minutes of "terror"...

RE: 6 and a half minutes of "terror"...
And the prince and the pauper all still die don't they?

Macbeth act 5 scene 5 "flurry of activity signifying nothing."

Maybe the key isn't looking at the word "hero" as default winning as much as it should be a word to denote learning to extend the ride for more, not a tribe.

No, neither the Prince nor the Pauper died (well, to be fair, they did, but after the events of the novel).

The quote is 'Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing' (your Shakespeare is as pathetic as your Twain).

It isn't about winning or losing, it is about what you think makes aerospace workers heroes.

You got my ass home so that means something to me. Not the universe but in my life it does.

Especially female cardiologists.

Typical, take all the credit without even once acknowledging the prayers said for the patient beforehand.

Valkyrie's kidding aside - assuming she is kidding - I do think of medical professionals as heroes. They are not (usually) putting themselves in much danger but they have the power to extend my life. I couldn't do what they do. It's just not in me. I'm squeamish. So I look up to them for performing a necessary function that is way outside my own comfort zone.

Engineers of different stripes don't directly save lives but they often indirectly do so. Not those who design and build interplanetary probes but they advance the human cause in ways few of us could.

I think this is a case of semantics. The word, "hero" is maybe used too liberally. We often speak of sports stars as performing heroic acts. This might just be a case where we don't have a word to label a soldier who takes a grenade for the team apart from a baseball player who hits a grand slam to tie a playoff game in the late innings.

I think its more a fault of the inadequacies of language than Brian making false equivocations.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
