So, it doesn't need to be an 'either/or' situation. It's perfectly possible to help tenants while making sure landlords don't go under.

So who is going to pay?

If you say "the government" you will be awarded 1000 Stupidity Points. The government generates no income whatsoever. It only transfers money that it takes in from the citizens who generate wealth.

Then the citizens who generate wealth will pay for it (those same citizens who sent you that stimulus check).

In the long run, protecting tenants and landlords will do more good than harm, as I’ve already explained.

No i'm not . I have refuted this accusation like a billion times already

1. I have not per capita commented on OLB anymore then any number of other posters on this forum

2. I have skipped more of his threads then i have responded too

So this simply isn't the case

So far our government can't decide on anything for relief.  The list of names above almost ensures that nothing will get done.  The old guard won't listen to their suggestions.

I agree that it’s unlikely to happen, but that doesn’t mean helping renters and landlords is a bad idea.

And it certainly doesn’t justify OLB calling people who are looking for relief ‘cunts’ and ‘twats’.

OLB isn't the only one on here to use extreme language.

Didn't someone, a regular, recently use "coloured people". which apparently passes the sniff test though it's quite offensive...but at least he didn't use the "N" word, which is a forum no-no.

OK. Have you ever NOT said anything negative about him? I don't think that you know what you say looks like to many members who have mentioned your behavior. I'd like to make avail of the straw you throw when you snide the shit out of him. You just don't see it. People have been giving you a "bye" in general because (IMO) he is kind of a curmudgeon and isn't always aligned with the left-leaning political aspect of this place. The minute he says something not on the forum mainstream political spectrum, he gets accused of voting for Trump, regardless of how many times he's explained his position. And that's not just you. A little introspection is in order, or maybe you can just start ragging my ass, too.

Interestingly, we were kicked out of the apartment complex before the rule went into effect where they couldn’t kick you out during the pandemic. As a result, we’ve been staying at an extended-stay hotel.

Some thoughts on this

There are plenty of people on this forum i have never said anything not negative about ,Dirch, Winter , Agonstico ,Klorophyll but i find it funny not single soul complains about that. Pound for pound i have responded to them more and been way harsher in my criticism and far from being chastised i get praised for it or at the very least i receive no negative reactions from it   . But when it comes to the equally irrational and equally repugnant stuff OLB says. All of a sudden. I'm a stalker. I'm not being fair . I have to take his bullshit excuses a gospel and pretend i buy it .Nuh uh  that's not the way i work . I don't care if he voted for Trump ultimately he is his own brand of douche and i won't shy about saying as much . I agree retrospective is needed . But i dont think it's me who needs it .

How the hell is the colored people offensive ? I have referred to myself as coloured for years . By your logic is the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) offensive ?

Cancelling rents, while making sure that owners of rental properties don’t wind up in default, is probably going to be less economically damaging than shattered credit ratings, food insecurity, and a massive increase in homelessness. And a lot of people are at risk of these through no fault of their own.

Something for nothing.....

It's garbage.

Some of these cunts have been getting unemployment PLUS $600 a week. In many cases that is in excess of double what they made working.

And they can't make it on THAT?

I’m sorry you’re so jealous and bitter. I know how much it chaps your guys’ asses when other people get stuff that you don’t get. Grow the fuck up.

It's the stupid that bothers me.

These idiots are like Douglas Adams Golgafrinchians....

They adopt the leaf as legal tender -then run into a "slight" problem with inflation. (Solution.= burn down the forrests)

These dweebs want to raise the national debt til the value of the dollar is on par with the leaf.

Mind you don't strain your back moving those goalposts.
