RE: Cool Optical Illusions
Stare the the three black dots for 30-60 seconds. (On the nose.)
Then close your eyes and while they are still closed, face them at something bright (at a lamp.)

Can't let this thread go without my personal hero:

Maurits Escher, born on the 17th of june 1898 in Leewarden. He and Oscar Reutersvärd are the pioneers and masters of portraying impossible figures, some of Eschers woodcarvings are awe inspiring.

I like M.C. Escher's artworks, too. Here is my favorite of his.

A visit to any kindergarden would provide voluminous proof that these two gents are no pioneers in this. Big Grin

Motion Aftereffect:

Stare at the centre of the moving pattern for 20 - 30 seconds. Then, look at something else.

This illusion creates a greater motion aftereffect.

Stare at the center for about 30 seconds to 1 minute in full screen window. Then, look at your hands.

It creates the same aftereffect. It will work to different levels depending on the person.

The one that I posted seems to work better for me, though. But yeah, like you said, maybe it differs for different people.

Here's another illusion:

Here, you see a picture of a circus, and if you tilt your head to the side, you'll see the face of a clown - like this.
