Of course it's worth learning about! That's how you can tell how stupid it is, Min!

Indeed; in the Torah,Judaism does not become monotheistic until the book of Exodus.

TANGENT; Eve was NOT the first women, but the second. The first woman was titian-haired beauty called Lilith.Seems she was bit uppity. (translation; she would not obey Adam) Woosy Adam complained to God,who turned Lilith into a red-headed demon to and gave Adam the allegedly compliant Eve---and look how well THAT worked out!
To this day there is a Jewish superstition which considers red headed women bad luck. (really)
Source: Midrash and Jewish apochrypha. From memory, I think "The Gospel Of Adam And Eve", but I'm not certain.
Quote:Midrash (Hebrew: מדרש; plural midrashim, lit. "to investigate" or "study") is a homiletic method of biblical exegesis. The term also refers to the whole compilation of homiletic teachings on the Bible.
Midrash is a way of interpreting biblical stories that goes beyond simple distillation of religious, legal or moral teachings. It fills in many gaps left in the biblical narrative regarding events and personalities that are only hinted at.[1]

Interesting to note that Lilith was also a Sumerian goddess.Judaism borrowed much of its mythology and theology from the Sumerians. That includes their nasty little dessert god called 'el' (he) who later transmogrified into YHWH (in the book of Exodus) creator of the universe.

I wonder when Yahweh found the time among all the mass drowning, burning, torturing, turning people into salt, exterminating babies, sending plagues, etc to rip out one of his ribs and make himself a wife.
Even worse this makes Yahweh look like a cheating scum by impregnating another woman (Mary). So apart from being a homicidal douchebag, he also comes across as a cheating scumbag.
Why do so many people worship such an asshole?
Yup, just another name for "ashteroth/Ishtar/astarte/ and possibly Isis" queen of the heaven, the queen of the stars, queen of the starry realm, etc..

It was an arms race 'till all religions got an all-everything god. Yaweh or whatever jus happened to be the god of war of those people, and in those times war was the first priority (Today too, mabe )

It still is,as is christianity and islam.
Afterall all three feature a creator god who is supported by an entire cast(that makes LOTR look like an amateur theatre production) of lesser deities such as angels, demons and devils.
Just like all of the polytheistic religions..
Cue the religious apologetics in 3,2,1...........

But I like Ishtar, Astarte, and Lilith....damn
Eve is just a dominatrix male pipe dream..... although the Islamists have given her a run for her money... to the point of genital mutilation.

even though she's kind of flighty
cause she wears a see-through nighty
and that's good enough for me

So in Genesis 1:26 god was talking to his wife. And I was thinking god had a split personally.
