That's what makes this thread even dumber. At the national level, Democrats and Republicans are in near total agreement on immigration policy. It's just in media that they pretend to be polar opposites.

Both parties agree that no-one wants a rush of illegal immigrants.  "Open borders" is a political loser, and both sides know it.

The parties don't agree on what to do with the illegals that have been here for decades, general immigration policy, or funding that should go to dealing with the influx.

That's definitely true... on the debate stage. 

But in practice... look up deportation rates, rates of detainment at the southern border, and the amount immigrants granted citizenship under Bush, Obama, Trump, and then Biden. The numbers do not differ substantially.

This is also the case for other issues. Guess which ones!

I guess it's fine as long as the border states take care of them. The number of migrants Texas sent to New York and LA is just a fraction of the number they're dealing with.

Did you know that border states get extra federal funds to help them deal with migrants illegally entering their states?

If it's the Fed's job to handle immigration, why are you criticizing any individual state or city?

Because they declared themselves to be sanctuary cities and welcomed them there.

All a 'sanctuary city' is, is a place where local law enforcement doesn't do ICE's job for them. Nothing stopping ICE from enforcing immigration laws.

What is so Christian about lying to immigrants and making false promises to get them on buses and then driving them to a location without warning to local authorities so they can be prepared for a sudden influx of migrants? All for a political stunt? What's the Christian part of this that you admire and think shouldn't be criticized?
