Step forward Mr Kal Singh, commenting on The Best of Hitchslap video...

" That's you own opinion. the majority of the world believe in a Religion and God. That'll be about 6.2 BILLION people, unless you think they are all wrong?"

Well...yeah.
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

Seen on another forum:

"I'm not talking about the old intelligent design. I'm talking about the new intelligent design", which, not surprisingly, looks EXACTLY like the old one.
'The difference between a Miracle and a Fact is exactly the difference between a mermaid and seal. It could not be expressed better.'
-- Samuel "Mark Twain" Clemens

"I think that in the discussion of natural problems we ought to begin not with the scriptures, but with experiments, demonstrations, and observations".

- Galileo Galilei (1564-1642)

"In short, Meyer has shown that his first disastrous book was not a fluke: he is capable of going into any field in which he has no training or research experience and botching it just as badly as he did molecular biology. As I've written before, if you are a complete amateur and don't understand a subject, don't demonstrate the Dunning-Kruger effect by writing a book about it and proving your ignorance to everyone else! "

Well, I could drag up some evidence for some totally terrifying biology in other species next to their 'parts'...

But humans?

Utterly milquetoast in comparison with the rest of the planet.

I'm literally speechless at this one. Seriously, where the fuck did that little nugget of wisdom come from? If this guy isn't a Poe, he's indistinguishable from one - but I suppose that's true by definition.

I'm paraphrasing here, but when we were discussing the 9/11 suicide bombings...
religious person: "How did religion get into this?!"
me: stunned silence
me: "Because 9/11 was a religious attack?"
religious person: "It was!?"
me: more stunned silence

No it wasn't religious.
It was an attack on American imperialism. You will note that none of the targets were religious.
The government turned it into a religious war later.
