I am seriously fed up with some religious people imposing their beliefs on me. But I am even more angry when some liberals (who hypocritically claim to actually "live and let live") impose their beliefs on others as well. This whole controversial gay issue is a prime example. Those Christian dude's who refused to bake a cake for a gay couple get fined for not doing so??? Are you telling us What to believe? Are you infringing our 1rst amendment rights? The very thing you gay liberals were fighting FOR? Who is being the *hypocrite* and *bigot* and *infringing first amendment rights* now? Just because some Christian assholes told you to go to hell doesn't mean you got to beat the shit out of all of us. I don't believe in gay stuff anymore and I have the right to do so let me live and let live. We agree to disagree, you don't attack me, I don't attack you. Your rainbow flags and all of a sudden playing the victim card to attack a group of people that you have a grudge shows your hypocrisy. Of course this doesn't excuse Christians from doing the same thing themselves. Everyone protect each other's first amendment rights.

Hypocrite Liberals imposing their beliefs

When I first started working, one of the rules my boss laid down was to keep your personal beliefs on the other side of the door. When you run a public business, your job is to barter goods for money. People can't live in a town where the businesses won't take their money, so unless the people of the town work against someone bringing their personal beliefs into a business that has nothing to do with the people buying a product, then a certain section of the populus can't live there.
Which is pretty much the point. Either you kick people out, and lose a significant chunk of your business, or a portion of the population has to pick up and move elsewhere. Which do you think is better for a town? Telling businesses that they have to sell their product to everyone, or excluding people from living in a town? More people means more revenue. More revenue means a healthier town. If someone comes to buy a cake that says Bob and Dave, just make the cake and get on with your life. It's not your business. Selling cakes is your business, so just sell the cakes. This is not hypocrisy. Opening a cake shop and refusing to sell to christians would be hypocrisy.

Of course this doesn't excuse Christians from doing the same thing themselves. Everyone protect each other's first amendment rights. Before the middle of the last century, many businesses in the south were able to discriminate against blacks. That is why segregation could occur and why we now have laws against businesses that discriminate. In order to have a business that serves the public, the owners have to provide everyone with similar service so yes, the bakery has to provide wedding cakes to anyone that asks. They don't have to put anything that they find offensive on the cake because that would go above and beyond what they do for everyone else. So a Jewish bakery would have to make a cake for a Nazi party but they don't have to adorn it with the Nazi flag (July 21, 2015 at 1:54 pm)omnomnom Wrote: I don't believe in gay stuff anymore and I have the right to do so let me live and let live. There's a difference between bigotry and discrimination. You are perfectly within your rights to wallow in your bigotry, but you are not allowed to take action on that bigotry by denying the object of your derision service when you run a business with a general contract with the public.
The OP is so obnoxious I decided to just giggle at the username instead
Are you a troll op? You can tell us! c:
I'm going to leave now
But if you allow one form of discrimination where do you let it end?
"I'm the only doctor in a small town. What's that? You need emergency treatment? But you're gay/an atheist/a Christian/the 'wrong' colour? Sorry I won't treat you because of my convictions" And extreme example, certainly, but it just takes one small slip to start an avalanche. Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
I'm with you, omnomknob! I don't believe in any gay stuff either, but goddamn it, it just won't stop existing!
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay." For context, this is the previous verse: "Hi Jesus" -robvalue (July 21, 2015 at 1:54 pm)omnomnom Wrote: I am seriously fed up with some religious people imposing their beliefs on me.
