If using God as a tool to explain what cannot be explained is wrong, which is the right way to explain what cannot be explained?

God is a fantastic creature that is believed to have created the universe. It's an ancient piece of global folklore and mythology(basically) and it's the central part of many religions. I am truly amazed at how widely this idea has spread throughout human history... And to no avail, mind you.
God is not the problem so much as an effect of the real problem - stupid credulity and laziness in thought. It has nevertheless become a reliable signpost for mediocrity.

No one has an objective definition of god, and that includes theists. Deists are theists insofar as they believe in a power than cannot be evidenced, explained, or adduced.
Me, I define "god" as "horseshit".

And here I thought horseshit had its own definition.

I will tell you where he is trying to go, the same place he tried to go in another thread he had on this forum. His idea is that we can't be atheists because we do not know what god is, so we can't not believe in it. Which of course is completely absurd but he can not seem to understand why.
I don't know what a loofahcampus is, but I don't believe they exist either.

Are you overlooking the fact that many theists seem to believe in god on a feeling or intuitional basis? Having no rational basis for belief in god does not stop belief in god. The fact that they believe in gods anyway is what makes them theists. Having no reasonable basis for such a belief does not disqualify them from holding beliefs.

Sure, probably more than one. But "atheist" will do. Atheists do not believe in atheism, they just don't believe in gods. That is all there is to it. Some atheists also hold a positive belief that gods don't exist. As you've been hearing there are names for that, but "atheist" alone doesn't include the positive belief that gods do not exist.

But god doesn't exist, and you atheists just need to get a clue.

Okay, I'd like to buy a clue. What is the universally agreed upon definition of "god" against which any putative evidence is to be weighed?
