As you can imagine though, I don't take well to being accused of supporting the rape of children.

Or to blasphemy toward the object of your adoration, apparently.  That's okay.  I'll skirt around it.   Angel

God Dammit why not!  Tongue

What can I say, I like her. You will too if you don't already. If all theists were like her this site would either not exist at all or be radically different than it is.

So what do you suggest me do? Force myself to stop believing something that in my heart I feel is true, only because there are people within the Church who are bad people?

Do you support this church financially? I'd suggest stopping that.

But it does support the structure that is obstructing the justice that the molesters have earnt.

Justice delayed is justice denied. Especially when the Church is still actively fighting attempts to mete it out.

Yeah but a similar argument could be made that supporting either party supports the status quo and prevents this country from ever advancing. And yet I'm still voting to minimize the potential harm of a republican government (manned by someone from the current clown car - no Eisenhowers there).

I am not making up the fact the church has records of molestations going back over 1500 years.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Love ya ol' man!  Heart
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

No I believe you. And there is worse. But like some people the church as a whole lurches forward, possible getting better.

This is why I vote third party, as well.

From our atheist perspective, the church is engaged in a criminal conspiracy to shield perpetrators from criminal persecution and in many cases, to facilitate those perpetrators continued criminal conduct with fresh, unsuspecting victims. And in furtherance of that conspiracy, they also deny their victims legal claims, use their lawyers to harass the victims and their families, and then conspire to hide assets to avoid paying compensation to their victims.

And it's a false religion to boot.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
