Donald Trump was good for one thing:

He exposed how many ignorant, racist, bigots that this country ACTUALLY has. In a time when I thought racism, and bigotry were dying out, at a time when I thought ignorance, true ignorance, was becoming more and more hard to come by, I am thoroughly shocked. How can I, as a 16 year old, and many Americans younger than I, laugh here at the fact that people who have been on this Earth over three times as long can know so little about politics where the younger generation can't vote on yet.

I always thought that with age comes experience, and as a result, you have more chances to learn, gain knowledge, cast away age-old ignorance. The sheer amount of people in favor of a Donald Trump presidency and the average voting age group for Trump has definitely made me doubt the validity of this belief.

Not that IQ is everything. It isn't a measure of character, for instance.  Some serial killers have VERY high IQ's, it does not mean they would be good Presidents.

Has there been some bullshit spread about regarding this? He kept referring to it as if it was the only measure of intelligence. I had to point out that even if it was true (which is extremely doubtful) then it does not in anyway mean that either Donald Trump or Sarah Palin have the necessary qualities to be a leader. The only skill they have demonstrated is to get votes from stupid people. Also that IQ is a poor measure of intelligence because there are so many functions that the brain has to perform. We know for a fact that neither of them have the ability to think critically for example. The fact that someone has to parrot some crap about having a higher IQ than 99% of the population suggests to me that they don't know shit about the nature of intelligence.

I maintain my position that Donald Trump is an utter idiot.

IQ is not perfect but it is also not a poor measure of intelligence. It is the best measure of intelligence thus far we have. And even emotional intelligence is correlated with traditional intelligence.

I don't know if Donald Trump is smarter than 99% of the population, but he sure damn is very intelligent. Have you seen how quick he is in responding to people? His craftiness? His wits? That all requires at least above average intelligence. And keep in mind, he's doing politics, so of course he's going to say shit he himself doesn't really believe in. But even if he has poor critical thinking skills, that would just be one facet he sucks at.

Anybody here who hates Donald Trump you can get out of this country. After all he will be the future president of our country.

So why not tone it down a bit and have a reasonable conversation with us about Trump or anything else? Try making an introductory thread and tell us about you, first - that's my suggestion.
