Fustration! How is this favored?!

RE: Fustration! How is this favored?!
@ BrokenQuill92, Good to hear your dad's doing better and that your mom and dad are getting back together, I'm especially glad to see you so happy. You deserve to be happy, happy is so great after such a tough ordeal.

Now can I be a bit more serious here, not that I wasn't above. I'm hoping they are getting back together for more of a reason than his illness, those things seem to fade after awhile, I've seen it happen. My hope and no offense to you is intended, my hope is that God is in the middle of their coming together because I believe that is a situation that can be lasting when people listen to Him. I've seen this happen also. Anyhow enjoy this great time till your heart is full of the greatest joy.

Anyway, I hope I see that day come to fruition for you. :-)
actually with my own health conditions my life expectancy isn't very high. And I don't mind myself just as long as people I care about get long happy lives.
What good did Methuselah's long life do him?

Daddy is doing MUCH better but he needs to take it easy. He's been but on a Mediterranean diet and isn't allowed to lift more than five pounds. We're trying to get him into a nice condo, his house has too many stairs and he can't stay at granny's forever. He's still a bit resistant to the diet but he's coming around.

Based on observation I think I prefer to kick the bucket before I get all decrepit.

Prayer: for when you couldn't be arsed to do anything to help, but you wan't to have the kudos of helping.

I do not care about kudos, I had only one way to help and I used it for her good not mine, you shouldn't assume things you know nothing about.

Well then, GC help people, don't pray at them. Plenty of other religious people can do it so why dont you?

I was trying not to be rude. But I don't really appreciate prayers very much. Though my father wouldn't mind.

I don't pray at anyone, I pray for them in the interest of helping, why, because I care unlike those who try and make fun of those who help through prayer.

To misquote Tuco "If you want to help, help, don't pray".

There is absolutely no evidence that a single prayer has ever had a positive effect, outside of the beneficial effects of self reflection (which doesn't need prayer), and significant evidence that it may be harmful, for example the Templton prayer study, whose results showed that patients who were prayed for and knew they were being prayd for recovered less well than those in the group who weren't prayed for. So, if you want to help get of your lazy fat arse and help, and stop utterin meaningless platitudes.
