Why must there be a reason? Why can't it just be? It seems as if theists are holding this belief that everything must have a reason, a purpose and meaning. The quantum vaccum consists of no physical particles but instead it consists of virtual particles (and electromagnetic waves), which can potentially become real particles and universes. Not that I care about your opinion of me, but my Irish friends, and I have many, joke that they answer questions with questions. They have their own jokes about my Dutch stinginess and English pomposity. We live in Chicago where people don't get all up in arms about light-hearted ethnic humor. If you are too thin-skinned to abide light ethnic humor then go back into your totalitarian enclave.

Funny thing about the internet - there's no body language to observe, so unless you turn sarcasm up to 11 or employ emojis it's difficult to determine if someone is being serious or simply joking around.

As for me I usually give people the benefit of the doubt for just that reason. I didn't even think to add emoticons. An obvious white guy (see avatar) making a comment about a white ethnicity (and for all Dorf knows I could be part Irish) should hardly be cause for angst or accusation.

I've got a few ship loads of Irish American immigrants that might disagree.

Thing is I knew Wooters was making an attempt at cleverness. But his inherent idiocy betrayed his inherent racisim, because the closest thing he had to a witty retort was to paint a whole culture with the apparent faling he believed he detected in one member of that culture group, viz me.

I still don't see any racism there. Irish aren't a race. It may have been offensive, but it isn't racism.
