I've fired a rifle before. Not exactly something i'd go to, for self defense. Then again, being the child of two police officers, nobody's really ever wanted to get in a fight with me to have to deal with them!

Surprisingly didn't get in any trouble with the cops. In fact, they were actually quite understanding in that situation.

Glad you got no trouble from it. A man should and ought to be able to defend himself as circumstances warrant.

I wouldn't say that's surprising, self defense is fully legal.

(My parents always told me "You can beat the shit out of the other kids so long as they throw the first punch." And they do know their laws )

Or let's just say there was a random sharp object on the ground, even using that would get me into trouble. But hey I inflicted enough damage. I'm just glad I didn't end up dead.
