Actually I bumped into god on a downtown bus yesterday, and he didn't seem to know anything about May 21st. So, I asked him why his followers thought that and he told me that he didn't have a fuckin clue, and added that, "they've been makin shit up for centuries."
I asked him if I should let his people know so that they don't go and do anything stupid and he told me, "First of all, that won't stop them from doin stupid shit, and secondly, I wouldn't if I were you. Experience has taught me that my people don't exactly handle differing opinions too well."

As god got off at the next stop I asked him what Heaven is like and would I get to see my grandparents. He answered, "Actually, I made it so that everybody gets to go the Heaven ... why do you think I'm down here?"

He added as he stepped off the bus, "oh an the next time you feel like praying, just assume the answer is no."

Btw, I think there are very few Christians who actually believe this (that the world will end on May 21, 2011). Maybe as little as 1% of the Christians.

And why would they believe this in the first place if it's not in the Bible? What makes them think so?

I think this is the first time I've agreed with you Rayaan. I think most christians probably think its bullshit too. Even for christians ... there's a limit - ya know.

Matthew 36/7 is also one that is used to prove the trinity to be scripturally wrong, as Jesus (the son) is supposed to be god, yet Jesus claims that even HE will not know, but god will.

The bible is such a horribly compilated mass of mythology. I found less contradictions in the writtings of Ovid and Hesiod...not to mention they were much more entertaining of a read than the damn bible.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: I find it hilarious when crazy fundies use the bible, a book which never mentions specific dates because it was written before dates were invented, to come up with very specific dates for the end of the world/Jesus' return. Any good "prophet" knows that you never use specific dates, you always just say things like "very soon" and "these are the last days." Even Rapture Ready forbids speculation of particular dates for the rapture, because they've had so many people disappointed when that date came & went.

And besides, the rapture already happened in 1992:

No... Noah didn't know WHEN it was going to happen, just that it would happen.

No... Noah didn't know WHEN it was going to happen, just that it would happen.

And he was 600 years old when he got on to his big boat with two types of every animal on the planet.
