Why? That has to be the weakest argument ever or you have been grown up in a very protected environment. Strong language is something I expect from someone that age. Some other replies I don't.

It's not that. It's that you can't reply in a similar manner to him. That's either not allowed or frowned upon. Either way, the kid swears and you have to ignore it. That's the awkward part.

Oh come now, surely his age will be displayed prominently on his driver's license!

If he swears, I swear back, if I feel the post to be obnoxious. If it isn't, I either ignore it because it's irrelevant or I'm giving an answer without too many swear words. A few well placed fucks and shits won't be frowned upon, after all.
