It was a tragic incident and my heart goes out to the victims and their families. Unfortunately, it is quite easy for people to get caught up in all the anti-Islamic rhetoric in times like this when they are scared but that definitely won't solve the problem. I recently realised that myself and I hope others will too.
The Muslim Council of Britain condemned the attack, and even started a fundraiser that has surpassed £17,000 so far. I certainly won't shed a tear over the death of the attacker, though. He got what he deserved and kudos to the authorities for acting quickly.

Agreed, even though I personally deplore any loss of life. The actions taken by the MCB as well as ordinary members of the public really drive a stake through the heart of simplistic, divisive and downright dangerous "us and them, you're with us or against us" posturing. That some people seem unable to recognise that is worryingly revealing.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Well in the UK the majority of our terrorists are traditionally sects of christianity with Islam a newcomer to the terrorist table. The US A has been largely protected from terrorist attacks and tend to over react. But even in the US the majority of terror attacks are carried out by Christians, muslims account for 1% of the deaths by terrorists in the USA.

I do not deplore loss of life in situations where it is justified. It would have been nice to see the attacker captured alive and sentenced to life in prison, but that's not always possible, unfortunately.
Now Daesh and their affiliates are going to see this twat as some kind of martyr. I'm totally with you on your point about the MCB though. On their fundraiser page, they even encouraged other faiths (and atheists) to get involved which is nice.

Mine is an ideal world in which no death is justified. Of course I have to make compromises when worlds collide. That saddens me, but I'm realist enough to understand that not everyone thinks like I do and accept that I can't change the fact.
