Oh sure people agree with me lots. But I disagree with 99% of people on SOMETHING and I HAVE to point it out ALWAYS.
...and Aroura is perhaps... the only person.... I can think of... who I don't remember... ever disagreeing with... yet? I don't remember ever telling her I think she's wrong about something.
By the way I don't mean on AF I mean in my life thus far.
It doesn't include people I just met who shared one opinion with that I agree with.
Me and Aroura have interacted quite a few times, of course... and I don't see any disagreement... yet.

I'm sorry I snapped at you yesterday Aroura.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

That's probably because we are both hard determinist. ?? But there are a lot of determinist here on AF. IDK, I hadn't thought about it before, but how funny!

We seem to agree politically too.
And it's not just that we're both determinists... we both seem to draw the same moral lessons from the implications of that fact.
I've got to know tons of determinists over the years... but you're the first one I've known who, like myself, doesn't seem to think the truth of determinism is completely morally inconsequential.
Most determinists who don't believe in free will that I know, including my own brother, say something like "Okay so there's no free will but it makes no difference to our life and we basically have to pretend it exists anyways."
You're the only person I've known, as far as I know, who realizes it does make a moral difference.
Oh and you're not a defeatist either. I guess I've known a few people who understood it made some difference but they misunderstood that difference and became defeatist or fatalist when they don't need to. (After all... if there's no free will then there never was so it makes no sense to stop bothering to try just because the will is unfree, lol. Our motivations and drives are just as real if they're controlling us as if we're controlling them).
But I realize it's futile arguing with the fatalists too somethimes because.... I'm not a fatalist but...
Joke. Obviously I could do something about it but if I was I'd be less inclined to until I realized determinism didn't imply fatalism lol.

I disagree. You are very agreeable - but there are limits. It is your destiny to help right those who misspeak on the internet. Go forth now and clean this place up. Thank you, masked man.
Hey... I'm not masked. I've shown my face on AF many times. Even in video form twice.

That's my favorite post you've ever made, Neo!
Because you also added a smile at the end. Normally people say that to me without a smile

Yeah, preferably one into which we can all see. (Just don't let Morgan find out. She's a little possessive about C_L.)

I would like to inform all that I have theistic inclinations. When I apply rationalism, I am clearly an atheist. When I let go of rationalism and let my emotions run, I feel lightened up with thoughts about god.
Regardless whether god exists or not, it is good to live with imagination at times. These times, my imagination includes god.
Deliberate rationality leaves me depressed and feeling empty. Ideally, I'll limit use rationality to only times when I am handling scientific issues, addressing humanitarian issues and dealing with the reality.
I hope that this can spark a good discussion,

One of the things that might have helped me abandon religion was the fact that God never helped me when I needed him the most. When you are fucked up, and feeling like everything is falling apart, so that it would be great if there was someone to help you cope with the problems you have, if your best bet for help is from an immaginary person, then you're in deep shit.
Anyway, it might be that completely "letting go" of God is not a thing that happens instantaneously, but progresses slowly, like growing up does. Perhaps your need to include god in your imagination will die off one day.
