Listen, I'm just trying to tell you that your intentions aren't plain in this medium. A kudos can mean agreement, laughter, "i read this", a lot of different things. Expecting anyone to suss these things out when you're being vague in a text-only format is just unreasonable, as is expecting them to differentiate between a joking insult and an insult laid in seriousness, which we had just been doing.

I hope the both of you understand that you both have the same individual issues with others. I've been a recipient also.

I do not have this same issue with anyone else. Disagreements you and I have had managed to stay within one thread instead of spanning months and more than a handful of threads, correct? The only other person I have had similar disagreements with since my return to this forum has been his girlfriend. I'm sure you can figure out why that is, though I can't remember which one of them I pissed off to start this. I know that I have an abrasive sense of humor, and I know I can be dismissive of other people, don't mind flinging insults, etc. People who have bothered to get to know me have become my friends. Those who haven't, I don't care enough about to apologize for who I am. I'm certainly not even the meanest bitch in here. I just stand out because people seem to think my relationship with Tibs makes me fair game for all of the staff griping that goes on here. It's not happening anymore. I'm only going to bother with people who can take a disagreement and remain amiable in the aftermath.

Also, she told you she was joking like 4 times. Nobody is expecting you to suss these things out when they are flat out telling you they are joking. It's fine if you don't get the joke the first time around, but she literally pointed it out, and the fact that she gave you kudos to the post is a big hint as well. I don't know anyone who goes around giving kudos to people they are planning on insulting in the very next post. That's not the point of a kudos at all.

But yeah, I think it was rather clear that Shell B was joking, to be honest. I get it that Thump maybe isn't very good with dealing with banter from non-friends though. I guess that's what this is about.

For what it's worth I like all parties involved and I wish things would stop getting personal. I still don't understand why people got thread banned for a couple of insults. Seems to have just created an unnecessary drama out of nothing. And I still stand by my statements that this place is going to eventually turn into a safe space and echo chamber if the prime directive gets enforced this loosely. I guess we did eventually get the nuke button and we called it the "prime directive" and aimed it at AF?

I think I know my colleagues enough to assume that they've managed to get a grasp on the job by now, however tenuous, and are fairly likely to respond to such things in the appropriate manner. The drama was happening well before the PD rule was enforced. I stand by the fact that I think it was for the best. In the future, I'll try to do better with derailing threads (I think I was better at it when I was on staff.) However, I didn't do well in that thread, and it was completely derailed as a result.

Hey, look who it is and the tired old arguments about me being treated specially that she's bringing up. I meant to clarify earlier, and I will do it now. Every response directed at me that is insulting and intended to flame will be reported. Others will simply be ignored. I'm going to extend that to you too, since you can't seem to shut the fuck up. Tibs already pointed out to me that it would be abuse of the reporting system. I wonder why he would do that if I would just get away with it anyway . . . Curious . . . I will be sure when I report those comments to mention the flame war that started with you two months ago. Hopefully, you'll just cut the shit and ignore me as I intend to ignore you after this post.

I'd use the ignore button, but then Thing 1 and Thing 2 (that's you) would still be able to see my posts, which isn't ideal for me. Lucky for both of us, I'm able to ignore both of you without the help of a forum function, and I can keep you from continuing to flame me by reporting any abuse of the rules, so that's that.
