With birth family, three moves in and around Montreal. Moved to Manitoba in 1977 (partly due to separatist politics, partly to take a house-sitting gig) and have lived in seven different places over the past 40 years. In my current house since 2001. If I move again it'll either be to an apartment or I'll just travel hither and yon.

Born in San Diego in '75. Moved to the Tampa Bay area when I was finished with 9th grade. Went to two high schools in the TB area, and finished high school near Phoenix, while my parents moved back to CA. Chose a tiny college in Vermont. Moved to NC for a while. Chose a uni in northern Ca. Ten moved to Pittsburg, PA for 9 yers. Now back in San Diego.
I have been most homesick for Sacramento, Pittsburgh, and Vermont, but am burned out on moving. San Diego is adequate, and I truly do love my neighborhood. If I were to raise a family (which I have no inkling to do), i would make sure I didn't move during my daughters' or sons' high school years. And they'd go public. Not tiny private. More opportunities, at least in the good districts.

Seems like an appropriate song for this thread:
Haven't moved around too much. Mainly stayed in the northeast. New Jersey, New York, Florida, and Texas. My favorite place is Florida so far.
Thanks for the replies everyone, some well travelled people here I see Very interesting that a fair few of you have ended up living back close to where you grew up. Makes me wonder if for some people there is a need to return back to where they started, or maybe it's just the family ties thing?
One thing is for sure.. I now Know I'm officially boring.
I used to put a note on my shoes, "You're in the PI", etc. When I was in Europe that was very necessary.
I've lived here my whole life. There's not much here for me, but I don't have the money and/or confidence to leave.
I live in rural northeast Ohio. It's not the worst place to live, but, there's not many opportunities, particularly for a guy with severe mental illness. I suppose if I didn't have that, maybe I could have saved up my money and left. I don't know how much better my life would be somewhere else. Maybe not much.
