Woops- welllll, it has to do with a weird bug or something in that in a previous post, I'd selected a few different messages to quote. But then removed a couple of them. Now one of them is showing up every time I hit reply. Anyway- I've gotten used to leaving the first quote tag when replying and editing posts. I was moving too fast, and accidentally left that top quote tag in place- which was from that other post.
