Do u want there to be a God? Any God?

Reference for what?

Adherents.com for percentage of atheism by country.

History books for Hitler's and Pinochet's theism.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

No, it's that you're not stating facts. You're stating your own personal views.  That's called an opinion.  Why should I believe you over others who say differently?

It is a fact that atheism concerns one's state of belief in gods.

Max's opinions: "It's a fact!"
Max's view of other's opinions: "Well, maybe he did, maybe he didn't. I'm very intelligent, I'm just not a big believer."

I think you don't understand.  You choose to be atheist.  Why?  Blind reason?  If not, there must be something.

There are in fact atheists that aren't atheists because they want to be. People like me that spent 15 years of their life reading a looking into many different religions hoping to find something there, and just gave up because they couldn't find any reason to believe that any of them were true.

You keep changing your definition.  If you have three different definitions, then maybe stick with one for now.  If not, use a source that you feel can explain it better.

So far:

Door #1 - Non-belief
Door #2 - State of belief
Door #3 - Product of circumstance based on logic

There we go. Someone with a credible answer.  A conclusion based on one's life experience.

Personally, I chose atheism to make myself even MORE of a chick magnet. You know what they say: 'Once you go can't-find-a-coherent-reason-to-believe-in-gods-while-at-the-same-time-being-appalled-by-the-callous-inhumanity-of-those-who-do, you NEVER go back!'

I didn't say that you did. I asked a question. I'm sorry if that was too confusing for you. I'll try to keep things simpler.

You're calling it several different things.  Pick one definition.  It will either be subjective (your definition) or objective (use a citation).  You're trying to use your definition and make it objective.  There's no reason to take your assertion as objective because it's personal to you and has little to do with anything else.

What is the sun?

Sun (Subjective) - A big thing in the sky that makes me feel warm and happy
Sun (Objective) - The star that is the central body of the solar system. (From dictionary.com - see link)

If I told you my subjective definition of the sun in the example, would you take it at face value and say it was the definition for everybody?  I'm guessing no. So why should I do the same for you.  Common sense should tell you to use the definition from the dictionary and apply it.

Do you understand?

No, make them logical.  Why do I care about leprechauns?  It has nothing to do with the conversation, and I have no reason to substantiate the statement one way or another.
