I'm not sure of the point you're making here. I'm not saying that Iran has ever had an ideal government. The one it has now it wouldn't have if the US hadn't interfered. 

No one is claiming that Iran is great. But think of the situation it's in. America has military bases surrounding it. We violate their airspace regularly. We shot down a civilian aircraft full of people and never apologized. Popular US politicians constantly call for regime change there. Any one of these things would be considered a serious threat if Iran did it to the US.

It's a thread about a white supremacist shooter. That's true. 

But things like this have multiple causes. It seems pretty clear that the shooter this time was imitating similar events in the US and elsewhere. Who can say how much people like this are emboldened if the President gives them cause to hope that white supremacy is on the verge of succeeding? 

If the US and the media were unanimous in condemning this sort of thing, fewer people might take it up. But all kinds of commentators, closer and closer to the mainstream, advocate white superiority and justify its cause. Trump makes it more acceptable. US foreign policy for years has made it seem reasonable. Hollywood movies are made in consultation with the Pentagon and teach us that violence is the answer. 

Crazy people get crazy in certain ways, based on what their environment contains. Trump and many others bear responsibility here.
