A person's actions are mainly the number 1 pointer to their motive. For example, killing "Sulaimani" just when thousands of people expected that the rash, scared-of-impeachment Trump would do such a move as soon as the hammer of impeachment falls over his head.

A fact of life is the person exposing their motives through their actions.

I don't think this is an accurate assessment.  If Trump planned to kill Soleimani because he was afraid of impeachment and thought it would help, why didn't he kill the general before he was impeached?

Simple he was already pulling off a distraction during the house inquiry  and he didn't need it yet .A question you should  asking is of he last three presidents why is it only the one who's been impeached who's actually tried to kill him

Actually, the Trump administration (bits of it, anyway) are the ones saying the attack wasn’t  authorized seven months ago. Just another instance of these buffoons not knowing how corruption is supposed to work - you get together first and make sure everyone has the same set of lies, excuses and evasions ready, THEN you commit the corrupt act.

I doubt he thought things would come to this. His Oligarch wing was winning. The general's killing is nothing more but an attempt to light the region, which would start a fire enough for him to escape impeachment, enough for Russia and China to intervene too.

He's already been impeached.  There isn't anything that's going to help him 'escape impeachment'.  How are you not getting this?

I think he means effectively, not technically. Which, yeah, somebody in the admin has certainly made that calculation.

There are alot of batshit things that the admin could do, and a few that they must do, in order to remain in power. Killing an iranian is all of a piece with the existential dilemma facing our current admin, lol. Turns out they tried to kill a few more...but couldn't get there.

I'm starting to wonder if there's anything that these guys are good at.

The senate's vote is what prevents me from calling this impeachment process "successful yet".
The scenario of him staying in power and causing a "civil war" over it is still a possibility to me.

A civil wear in somewhere-else--istan..I assume? The magats aren't going to violently overthrow the tyranny of the federal govt anytime soon.

Then you might want to learn what the relevant terms mean.  'Impeachment' is a formal accusation, akin to indictment.  It's got nothing to do with whether the official in question is removed from office.
