RE: War
Jeremiah, please see the post above yours.

If the lot of you cannot stick to the topic, I will close the thread. Not a fan of thread closing, so just do me a favor and cool it.

sorry, just got your post.

Trying to be nice over here, even apologized when they claimed I was wrong. Havent made any name calling like they have. Even tried to make a deal with them to be civil and they refused and instead resorted to name calling. My past posts speak for themselves that I am willing to have a good, civil discussion.

I think that hoping that you wouldn't engage in any war might be a stretch Rev. I'm almost positive that you could be motivated. I do believe that you would avoid any war you could, but we all have something dear to us.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

It's okay, Rev. I am not here to pass judgment on who is right or wrong. I'm just trying to keep the thread on topic. I personally like everyone involved in this squabble.
Wars I would be willing to fight in, anything that threatened my family. If my families lives or freedom were at stake, I would fight and die for them. I would also fight and die for my freedom. As for the freedom of others, that only extends to my family. However, I am relatively certain that I would risk my life in other ways for people I don't know. I'm not sure I would do it if I had the chance to really think about it first, but I am rash.

It is true that it is more of a "hope" in my answer than anything else. I am not afraid of guns and I damn sure know how to use many of them well. I also believe that I could pull the trigger and end someones life, but it is not something that I want to do.

If I saw an army rush into my neighborhood killing people I may more than likely come out guns blazing. In fact I more than likely would.

I just hope I am never put into that situation.

Meh, I make special exceptions for defensive action, I was speaking more towards offensive action. It would be hard for me to fathom that you are immune to the same sorts of motivations as the rest of the human race. Hunger was the position that I was in when I made my choice.

I know that "war" means different things to different people.

To me war sounds more OFFENSIVE than DEFFENSIVE, but I will not change the basic definition. War is war.

But I know what you are saying..I feel that defensive action is justified. Defense against an intruding force into your home area is justified

HuhA man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

"In short, Meyer has shown that his first disastrous book was not a fluke: he is capable of going into any field in which he has no training or research experience and botching it just as badly as he did molecular biology. As I've written before, if you are a complete amateur and don't understand a subject, don't demonstrate the Dunning-Kruger effect by writing a book about it and proving your ignorance to everyone else!
