I think that if a cop pulled his taser or any other weapon on me I should be within my rights to shoot him dead on the spot.  Isn't that a good use of stand your ground laws?  Thew cops out here tend to approach while announcing from a distance in a non threatening pose.  I had an entire conversation with a sheriff attempting to serve a warrant from half way up my drive.  It's almost as if they know there are armed nuts in the woods and that no one is going to come and save them if they start shit, or something.

Maybe it's time the US took a hard, serious look at policing by consent, as opposed to policing by power.

So I just killed your family, burned down your house, pistol whipped your grandmother and raped your dog in front of a troop of girl scouts and the cops show up...

Fuck off - I don't consent to arrest...

Now about those girl scouts.........

Damn, this Rayshard fella sounds like a monster!

Tell that to the dead man editz, he might disagree, if dead men could disagree. One of the convenient aspects of killing those you're sworn to serve and protect is that there's only one side of the story to tell. Anywho, the kool-aid comment probably fits. I'm super serious about the rights of us citizens as a rabid murrican patriot.

This shit is unacceptable and there's no way to argue ourselves out of that box. That thinking as much needs to be derided as crazy talk is absurd.

Quote:[url=https://www.dui-lawyer.com/dui-law/]Georgia DUI law considers an Atlanta DUI third offense in ten years to be the last step before trying future convictions as felony crimes.  A Georgia DUI third offense carries a mandatory 15-day jail sentence, with fines ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.  Driver’s license revocation extends for five years (if there are three convictions within five years), and community service is required for 30 days.  The name, address and photo of the offender is published in a local newspaper at his or her expense.

Third offenders are declared to be habitual violators (if there are three DUI convictions within five years).  Their license plates are confiscated, mandatory clinical evaluation is required and the courts can require completion of a substance abuse treatment program, as well as installation of an ignition interlock device on their vehicles.

Fuck thats harsh, they become felony crimes after 3 in 10 years like WTF. Ur branded a criminal for life over a fuckin traffic infringement that is so wrong.
I got thrown in jail for multiple traffic fines. Jail is for people that do crime but its used if u break little laws too

Quote:I only asked the question to try and make sense of why he'd resist arrest in such a determined way like that, loosing his vehicle too.

Ok that could be why, we just don't know. If he had got away the cops would track him down through his car rego anyway so it was a really dire act

Yeah, that's not what 'policing by consent' means.  Have a google.

Our for profit prison system is wildly profitable Agno. They field alot of money and lobbyists to make more and more a criminal offense with longer sentences and harsher no-tolerance policies.

Maybe he ran because he was drunk, and drunks don't make great decisions. Or maybe he ran because it's the flight in fight or flight, not much thinking to it at all, for anyone.

Hyperbole tastic TGN, again. The police aren't executioners indeed, FFS. How's this - Accidents happen due to inadequate training and police error sometimes? Don't resist arrest to minimise the risk of deadly confrontational accidents happening? Rodney King was a looooong time ago. Why not post some images of slave ships too?

That cop didn't accidentally shoot anyone. What, he tripped, and the other guy landed on his rounds? This angle was tried in our most recent public lynching, too.

It means fuck all...

It might work with butterflies and unicorns - but enforcing laws on humans who are not cooperative requires force - sometimes deadly.

Deadly force is an option in that model. Just so happens that it ends up getting used less often.
