So -how come every six months or so - some wingnut comes up with a new plant based product that tastes like meat? Soy hamburger. Kale bacon. Wheatgerm extract chicken?

Seems if this stuff tasted better than meat - there would be a big market for meat that tastes like plants. Pork base beansprouts. Chicken base broccoli. Iguana spinach...

Not seeing these in the supermarket...

What gives?

Uhm... you do realise that those two statements aren't necessarily connected, right?

That the people you actually know might actually not like the taste of meat while all the other people that you don't know could have a wide variety of reasons to want products that taste like meat but are, in fact, not meat, right? (Like dietry restrictions due to medical reasons/complications).
